　　Both Sides, Now乃加拿大籍創作歌手Joni Mitchell六十年代作品，1968年由當時已負盛名的民謠歌手Judy Collins以單曲發行，隨即熱賣，大受歡迎，高居美國單曲流行榜，同時取得格林美最佳民謠歌曲表演大奬。1969年Joni Mitchell 親自演繹並收錄於其Clouds專輯內，令此曲再度廣受注目，2000年一再翻錄，經典不滅。

　　Both Sides, Now 用詞淺白、旋律優美，數十年來不斷有人翻唱，隨著歌手的不同演繹，效果韻味，截然不同。2004年美國音樂雜誌Rolling Stone把此曲歸入經典金曲500首，位列171（The 500 Greatest Songs of all time），Joni Mitchell亦先後取得八次格林美大奬。

　　Joni Mitchell 幼年患上小兒麻痺症，治療後雖説康復，心靈性情已受影響。

 

　　1965年22歲的Joni Mitchell與男友誕下女兒不久，二人旋即分手。感情受挫，窮困潦倒，生活艱難，預計無法把女兒養活，Joni Mitchell放棄撫養權，把女兒狠狠交托領養機構，隻身前往紐約發展。

 

　　這可能是Joni Mitchell一生最痛。

 

　　年輕生命的孤獨、無助、愁困、內疚，對前景充滿疑慮不安，令Joni Mitchell從另一角度透視人生。

　　仰望天際，白雲片片，時聚時散，時晴時雨，大自然變化莫測，抓不住捉不穏。無論如何用心觀察，我們還是看不懂、猜不透。

 

　　情感路上，童話式的浪漫愛戀，付出與收穫、犧牲與得著，曾經以為自己擁有全世界，回頭再看，始終夢一場。無論如何用心經營，我們還是看不懂、猜不透。

 

　　那麼，我們的人生，又是怎樣的一回事？

 

　　年輕時候看這個世界，過去現在、高低起伏、虛幻現實、歡笑淚水、是非黑白、成敗得失……一概都是壁壘分明，清晰可見，不存疑、不模糊。

 

　　千帆過盡，我們才心領神會，頓然醒覺，世人世事世情從來就是不停交替重疊，開始、終止再開始，一輩子糾纏不清。無論如何用心解讀，我們還是看不懂、猜不透。
