[ET Net News Agency, 24 September 2021] Half trading-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks
was HK$73.93 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.45 billion, or 11.43% of the
market's turnover. There were 691 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$807.37 million and HK$357.6
million, or 9.55% and 4.23% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 27.22% and 9.66% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-SW (09988) registered HK$254.43 million and HK$251.08
million of short sales, accounting for 3.01% and 2.97% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 18.25% and 14.6% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed up HK$7.4, or 3.05%, to HK$250. TENCENT ended up HK$3.8, or 0.82%, to
HK$467. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.02, or 0.08% to HK$25.16. BABA-SW declined by HK$1.4, or
0.94%, to HK$147.
