[ET Net News Agency, 27 January 2022] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$133.49 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$28.61 billion, or 21.43% of the
market's turnover. There were 751 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.3 billion and HK$3.08
billion, or 11.52% and 10.75% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 34.87% and 44.18% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-SW (09988) registered HK$2.79 billion and HK$1.67 billion of
short sales, accounting for 9.76% and 5.85% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 79.11% and 20.26% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$10.6, or 2.24%, to HK$463. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.48, or
1.97%, to HK$23.92. HSCEI ETF fell HK$1.84, or 2.14% to HK$84.1. BABA-SW declined by
HK$8.4, or 7.19%, to HK$108.5.
