billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.45 billion, or 18.76% of the market's
turnover. There were 698 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and MEITUAN-W (03690) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.81 billion and HK$1.31 billion, or 10.36%
and 7.5% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 39.81%
and 22.88% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BABA-SW (09988) registered HK$1.06 billion and HK$783.95 million of
short sales, accounting for 6.09% and 4.49% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 19.36% and 24.95% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.12, or 0.17%, to HK$69.02. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$4.1, or
2.45%, to HK$163.5. TENCENT fell HK$4.4, or 1.24% to HK$350. BABA-SW jumped HK$2.4, or
2.92%, to HK$84.6.
