[ET Net News Agency, 7 June 2023] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$45.72
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$6.09 billion, or 13.32% of the market's
turnover. There were 611 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$667.54 million and HK$453.35 million,
or 10.96% and 7.44% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 55.37% and 14.21% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$236.02 million and HK$230.19
million of short sales, accounting for 3.87% and 3.78% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 17.88% and 31.54% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.22, or 1.14%, to HK$19.53. TENCENT ended up HK$5.6, or
1.69%, to HK$336.8. MEITUAN-W rose HK$3.1, or 2.55% to HK$124.9. BYD COMPANY declined by
HK$1.8, or 0.71%, to HK$250.2.
