[ET Net News Agency, 11 November 2020] BOCOM Research lifted its target price for Sunny
Optical (02382) to HK$175 from HK$155 and maintained its "buy" rating.
The research house said Sunny's CCM (compact camera module) shipment grew 8% YoY and
remained steady MoM in October. HLS (handset lens sets) followed a seasonal pattern, down
5% MoM. BOCOM believes the mix upgrade for HLS/CCM remained muted.
For 4Q, BOCOM expects the shipment to largely follow a seasonal pattern, with HLS/CCM
down slightly QoQ.
If COVID-19 vaccine becomes widely available, BOCOM expects the overseas demand for
smartphones to gradually improve, positive to Samsung/Xiaomi, two of Sunny's largest
customers. It is also positive to the continued recovery of VLS (vehicle lens sets)
