[ET Net News Agency, 22 March 2018] Shangri-La Asia (00069) said its profit
attributable to equity holders for the year ended 31 December 2017 rose 49% year-on-year
to US$158 million.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were US4.43 cents and US4.42 cents.
Sales amounted to US$2,189.8 million, an increase of 6.5% from a year earlier. The
increase in sales was mainly driven by the opening of new hotels during the year and the
improvement in Room Yields but partially offset by the reduction in sales following the
closure of the Tower Wing of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore for major renovation from August
2016 to 26 May 2017.
The proposed final dividend is HK11 cents (2016: HK8 cents) per share, payable on 14
