[I-bank focus]Goldman tweaks HKEX's top-line post 3Q beat

[ET Net News Agency, 8 November 2018] Goldman Sachs said HKEX's (00388) 3Q EPS was 8%
ahead of its expectation, driven by higher investment income. Costs were modestly higher
(+3% versus Goldman's) but not enough to offset the top-line beat (+6% versus Goldman's).
The research house finetuned its estimates with a slightly higher top-line in 2018-20 on
better clearing/depository income, but revised down investment income on lack of
disclosure driving the 3Q beat.
Goldman believes the risk-reward at HKEx is favorable now. It reiterated its "buy"
rating on HKEX on the back of strong earnings growth, with a target price of HK$295. (KL)
