[ET Net News Agency, 26 February 2021] Nomura lifted its target price for HKEX (00388)
to HK$517.4 from HK$473.3 and maintained its "neutral" rating.
The research house said HKEX's FY2020 total revenue/earnings up 18%/23%, slightly above
Nomura's estimates. It thus lifted its FY2021/22 earnings forecasts by 6%/4% to factor in
the record high ADT (average daily turnover) of HK$70bn in January 2021.
Nomura thinks the strong ADT growth momentum for both headline ADT and Stock Connect
ADT is less likely to persist - especially given the stamp duty hike from 0.1% to 0.13%
announced on 24 February, the research house believes both turnovers will likely continue
to post decent growth, at 52% and 67% in FY2021, given the January turnover contribution
and strong contribution from jumbo IPOs. (KL)
