[ET Net News Agency, 16 November 2017] Air China (00753) said it carried about 8.99
million passengers in October, an increase of 5.4% year-on-year and 5.8% month-on-month.
For the first ten months of 2017, the accumulated number of passengers amounted to about
84.36 million, up 4.2% year-on-year.
Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the ASK)) and passenger
traffic recorded a year-on-year increase of 8.6% and 8.1% in October. The overall
passenger load factor was 81%, representing a decline of 0.4 percentage points as compared
to the same period last year.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne
kilometers (AFTK)) rose 9.9% year-on-year. Cargo and mail traffic grew 14.1% and the
volume of cargo and mail carried rose 6.1% as compared to the same period last year. The
cargo load factor was 58% in October, representing a year-on-year growth of 2.2 percentage
