[ET Net News Agency, 15 May 2018] Air China (00753) said it carried about 9.16 million
passengers in April, an increase of 12.1% year-on-year and a decrease of 2.3%
month-on-month.
For the first four months of 2018, the accumulated number of passengers carried was 35.9
million, up 8.9% year-on-year.
Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the ASK)) and passenger
traffic recorded a year-on-year increase of 15.3% and 16.2% respectively in April. The
overall passenger load factor was 81.5%, representing an increase of 0.6 percentage points
as compared to the same period last year.
In terms of cargo operations, in April, cargo capacity (measured by available freight
tonne kilometers (the AFTK)) grew 9.8% year-on-year. Cargo and mail traffic increased by
9.2% and the volume of cargo and mail carried increased by 3.3% as compared to the same
period last year. The cargo load factor was 56.6% in April 2018, representing a
year-on-year decrease of 0.3 percentage points. (HL)
