[ET Net News Agency, 19 January 2018] China Unicom (00762) said it added 4.438 million
of 4G subscribers in December, with the pace slowing from 5.051 million in November,
bringing the aggregate number of 4G subscribers to 174.876 million by the end of last
month.
The cumulative net addition of 4G subscribers for the full year of 2017 amounted to
70.325 million.
The mobile operator added 2.824 million mobile billing subscribers in December, up from
2.103 million in November, with the total number of mobile billing subscribers of 284.163
million. The cumulative net addition of mobile billing subscribers for the full year of
2017 amounted to 20.341 million.
On fixed line business, there were reductions of 617,000 of local access subscribers and
reductions of 964,000 of fixed-line broadband subscribers in December, with the total
customer size reaching 59.997 million and 76.539 million by the end of last month. (HL)
