[ET Net News Agency, 16 January 2018] China Southern Airlines (01055) said it carried
about 10.77 million passengers in December, an increase of 1.2% month-on-month and 13.82%
year-on-year.
For the year 2017, the total number of passengers carried grew 10.19% year-on-year to
about 126 million.
Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometres (ASK)) of the Group increased
by 11.27% as compared to the same period last year in December. Passenger traffic
(measured by revenue passenger kilometres (RPK)) rose 13.94% year-on-year. The passenger
load factor was 81.83%, representing an increase of 1.92 percentage points as compared to
the same period last year.
Cargo capacity (measured by available tonne kilometers (ATK) - Cargo and Mail) increased
by 5.58% as compared to the same period last year in December. Cargo and mail traffic
(measured by revenue tonne kilometres (RTK) - Cargo and Mail) increased by 0.84% as
compared to the same period last year. The cargo load factor was 53.04%, representing a
decrease of 2.49 percentage points as compared to the same period last year. (HL)
