[ET Net News Agency, 14 May 2018] China Southern Airlines (01055) said it carried about
11.57 million passengers in April, a decrease of 0.88% month-on-month and an increase of
14.47% from a year earlier.
For the first four months of 2018, the accumulated number of passengers carried amounted
to 44.82 million, an increase of 10.96% year-on-year.
In April, passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometres (ASK)) of the Group
increased by 13.94% as compared to the same period last year. Compared to the same period
last year, passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometres (RPK)) increased by
16.16%. The passenger load factor was 84.29%, representing an increase of 1.61 percentage
points as compared to the same period last year.
In terms of cargo operations, in April, cargo capacity (measured by available tonne
kilometers (ATK) - Cargo and Mail) increased by 5.25% as compared to the same period last
year. Cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue tonne kilometres (RTK) - Cargo and Mail)
increased by 4.02% as compared to the same period last year. The cargo and mail load
factor was 53.69%, representing a decrease of 0.64 percentage point as compared to the
