[ET Net News Agency, 24 April 2018] HSBC Global Research cited its sources in Macau
gaming industry noting that the first 22 days of April yielded MOP17.9bn in gross gaming
revenue (GGR).
This implies an average daily run rate (ADR) of MOP785m/day for the past week, compared
with MOP857m/day the week before and MOP614m/day during the same period past year.
Month to date VIP win rate continued to track 2.8%, on par with last week, based on
HSBC's observations.
By segment, VIP came in roughly on par with the March level while mass is up 1-2% m-m
based on HSBC's estimates. By operators, Sands, Wynn and SJM seemed to have gained share
at the expense of the rest.
Factoring in an early Labour holiday in the last week of April, full month GGR should at
least come in at MOP24.7bn, translating into MOP850m/day for the rest of the month. But
given the timing of the May Golden Week, HSBC expects a slight dip in May growth rate.
