[ET Net News Agency, 27 October 2017] Bank of Communications (BoCom) (03328) said its
net profit attributable to shareholders for the first nine months of 2017 rose 3.5%
year-on-year to Rmb54,419 million.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were Rmb0.7.
Net interest income amounted to Rmb94,837 million, a decrease of 5.88% from a year
earlier. The net interest margin of the Group decreased by 34 basis points on a
year-on-year basis to 1.57% and increased by 1 basis point compared to that in the second
quarter.
As at the end of the reporting period, the Group's identified impaired loan balance
increased by Rmb4.418 billion from the beginning of the year to Rmb66.818 billion; the
identified impaired loans to total loans decreased by 0.01 percentage point from the
beginning of the year to 1.51%
By the end of September 2017, the Group's capital adequacy ratio, Tier 1 Capital
adequacy ratio and core Tire 1 Capital ratio were 13.98%, 11.84% and 10.76% respectively,
which all met the regulatory requirements.
For the third quarter of 2017, net profit attributable to shareholders grew 3.5%
year-on-year to Rmb15,444 million. (HL)
