[ET Net News Agency, 28 January 2014] The MSCI Quarterly Index Review will be announced
on 13 February. CLSA predicted 4 additions and 2 deletions for the 13 markets in MSCI Asia
Pacific.
For Hong Kong listed stocks, the research house tipped CSPC Pharmaceutical (01093) and
China Cinda Asset Management (01359) as potential additions.
It sad New World China Land (00007) and Haitian International (00882) will both see a
significant increase in weight due to the removal of the 50% adjustment factor that was
applied in the November 2013.
Meanwhile, Soho China (00410) and Beijing Enterprises (00392) will both see an increase
in weight due to a predicted increase in the number of shares.
CLSA noted that Hopewell Holdings (00054) is a low conviction deletion for MSCI Hong
Kong. The stock has a current market cap of US$3.1bn. If an increase in the country
cut-off by MSCI of US$0.8bn then Hopewell will be a candidate for deletion. (KL)
