[I-bank focus] Huge rise in China coking coal prices seen

Nomura expects a significant rise in coking coal
prices in China, given even tighter supply in 2011-12 and with international prices at a
premium.
The house said concern regarding the impact of any slowdown in economic expansion on
steel demand is over-blown. Key producers should benefit from a structural shortage of
coking coal, faster consolidation, and protection policies in the 12th FYP, plus
sustainable steel demand backed by economic housing and solid FAI. (KL)
