[ET Net News Agency, 5 December 2019] Jefferies Research initiated coverage on Maoyan
Entertainment (01896) with a "buy" rating and a target price of HK$20.5.
The research house said Maoyan is China's leading online movie ticketing platform with
>60% market share, which is a result of its unique traffic source from Tencent (00700) and
Meituan (02690), its data operating system and subsidy strategies.
Despite the sluggish box office growth in China in 2019, Jefferies expects the company
to deliver around 15% revenue growth through revenue diversification from online ticketing
to entertainment content services, ads, and e-commerce. The research house also expects
margin upside from the decline in subsidies and leverage from fixed costs, including the
online ticketing system. (KL)
