[ET Net News Agency, 5 February 2020] Macau casinos will close for two weeks at the
request of the Macau government after two more confirmed infection cases. Jefferies
Research views this as a positive move to control the virus, but it noted that this adds
to the near-term headwinds.
The research house estimated February gross gaming revenue (GGR) could decline by 65% to
MOP9bn, previously estimated decline of 31%. Further, the operators' daily operating costs
are up to HK$60.2mn/day (excluding gaming tax and licence fees). (KL)
