Wharf REIC (01997) interim net down 31% to HK$6,989m

[ET Net News Agency, 6 August 2019] Wharf Real Estate Investment Company Limited
(01997) said its profit attributable to equity shareholders of the company was HK$6,989
million for the six months ended 30 June 2019, a year-on-year decrease of 31.34%. The
earnings per share were HK$2.3. An interim dividend of HK$1.1 per share will be paid.
The revenue from Hong Kong IP increased by 4% to HK$7,433 million and operating profit
by 4% to HK$6,591 million. The group's three malls combined for a 10% market share of
total Hong Kong retail sales during the period. Harbour City (including hotels) remained
the key driver of the group, contributing 73% of revenue and 76% of operating profit. (RC)
