[ET Net News Agency, 24 February 2020] CLP Holdings Limited (00002) announced its
annual results from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019. Its group operating earnings of
HK$11,121 million were 20.5% lower than 2018, reflecting the full year impact of the lower
permitted rate of return in Hong Kong and a challenging environment in Australia; total
earnings decreased by 65.6% to HK$4,657 million after an impairment of EnergyAustralia's
retail goodwill of HK$6,381 million.
Operating earnings from local electricity business in Hong Kong and businesses outside
Hong Kong decreased by 13.0% to HK$7,448 million and by 28.4% to HK$4,441 million,
respectively. Consolidated revenue decreased by 6.3% to HK$85,689 million.
A fourth interim dividend of HK$1.19 per share will be distributed. (RC)
