HK blue chips closed little changed on Thursday morning session in extremely quiet trade ahead of long weekend. In addition, the PBoC withdrew RMB95bn of liquidity from the market this morning.
The benchmark index lost its 10-day moving average (now at 22,767) again.
The Hang Seng Index ended up 53 points to 22,749. The H-share index also rose 21 points to 10,057. Half-day turnover reduced to HK$21bn from HK$28.5bn on Wednesday.
Citic Pacific (00267) announced plans to acquire parent's assets. It dipped 2.7% to HK$13.92, becoming the worst performing blue chip.
Tencent (00700) added 1% to HK$529 on news that the company may launch the mainland version of Candy Crush mobile game as early as summer.
Galaxy (00027) and Sands China (01928) reversed the recent weakness. Both stocks put on 1% to HK$68.5 and HK$61.1 respectively. CCB (00939) rose 1% to HK$5.47. But Anhui Conch (00914) bucked the trend, falling 4% to HK$30.5.
