ZTE Corporation (00763) said its net profit attributable to shareholders for the three months ended 31 March 2014 surged 203.51% year-on-year to Rmb622 million.
Its basic and diluted earnings per share were Rmb18 cents.
Operating revenue was Rmb19.05 billion, an increase of 5.51% from a year earlier.
For the six months ended 30 June 2014, ZTE expects its net profit to soar 158.06% to 222.57% year-on-year to Rmb800 million to Rmb1 billion. The Group anticipates substantial improvements in overall gross profit margin and total gross profit for the first half of 2014, which are attributable to the Group's on-going strengthening of management over contract profitability, improvement in gross profit margin for international projects as well as an increase in the operating revenue from domestic 4G systems projects as a percentage of total operating revenue.
