TCL Multimedia Technology (01070) said its profit attributable to owners of the parent for the nine months ended 30 September 2014 jumped 103.6% year-on-year to HK$228 million.
Its basic and diluted earnings per share were HK17.21 cents.
The turnover from continuing operations amounted to HK$23,601 million, a decrease of 15.4% from a year earlier. Gross profit margin increased from 14.7% to 16.2% year-on-year.
The Group sold a total of 11.9 million sets of LCD TVs for the nine months ended 30 September 2014, down 1.5% year-on-year. This is mainly due to the continuous weak market demand arising from the withdrawal of the energy saving home appliances subsidy policy at the end of May last year.
For the three months ended 30 September 2014, TCL Multimedia reported a net profit of HK$58.68 million, as compared to the net loss of HK$142 million for the same period last year. Revenue dropped 14.4% year-on-year to HK$8,398 million.
