Glencore (00805) said it reported a preliminary net income attributable to equity holders for the year ended 31 December 2014 of US$2,308 million, as compared to the loss of US$8,046 million in 2013.
Net income attributable to equity holders pre-significant items was US$4,285 million, up 16.9% year-on-year
Its basic and diluted earnings per share were US$0.18.
The revenue was US$221,073 million, a decrease of 4.99% from a year earlier.
Total own sourced copper production was 1.55 million tonnes, 4% (53,200 tonnes) higher than 2013, mainly relating to the ramp-up within African copper. Collahuasi, Antapaccay and Australian Copper also increased production during the year, however this growth was offset by lower grades at Antamina and operational constraints at Alumbrera and Lomas Bayas.
The directors have recommended a 2014 financial year final cash distribution of US12 cents per share.
Glencore has applied for the resumption of trading in shares tomorrow morning.
