HK stocks opened sharply lower on Wednesday as China's A-share market continued its downfall, while Greece has yet to submit new proposal to its creditors.
The Hang Seng Index opened down 564 points to 24,411. The H-share index fell 374 points to 11,452.
Market heavyweights were higher. HSBC (00005) fell 1.2% to HK$67.6. China Mobile (00941) slid 1.9% to HK$93.9. Tencent (00700) slipped 2.2% to HK$141.5. HKEx (00388) plunged 6.8% to HK$207.
