GCL New Energy (00451) said its profit attributable to owners for the six months ended 30 June 2015 soared 125.9% year-on-year to HK$90.16 million.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were HK0.65 cent and HK0.23 cent.
The revenue was HK$1,135 million, an increase of 41.8% from a year earlier. Gross profit margin rose to 28.9% from 7.2%, which was mainly due to the increase in profit contributed by the Solar Energy Business.
The substantial growth in net profit was mainly attributable to the growth in earnings from the photovoltaic power station business, with the revenue of this segment for the six full months period was incorporated into the financial results of the Group for the six months ended 30 June 2015, while this segment did not generate revenue for the previous interim period.
No interim dividend will be distributed.
