The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in March was 3,154, up 22.1% month-on-month but down 49.2% year-on-year.
The 12-month moving average for March was 5,203, 4.7% below the 12-month moving average for February and 30.7% below that for March 2015.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in March was HK$21.7 billion, up 31.5% from a month earlier but decreasing 62.1% from a year earlier.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 2,369 were for residential units, up 31.1% month-on-month but down 45.3% year-on-year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$17.1 billion, up 45.3% from February but down 46.3% from the same period last year.
