The Buildings Department said it approved 21 building plans in February, with three on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 12 in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, eight were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and seven were for community services development.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 12 building projects that, when completed, will provide 39,103 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,007 units, and 118,314 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for nine building projects.
The department also issued 13 occupation permits, with nine on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and two in the New Territories. Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 87,666 square metres, involving 771 units, and 45,657 square metres was for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in February totalled about HK$4.6 billion.
