HSI ends up 358 pts at 20,794; turnover at HK$72.5bn

    Hong Kong stocks closed sharply higher on Thursday as investors gradually discounted Brexit, with the Dow soaring 298 points overnight. The benchmark index opened up 300 points at 20,736. It then saw its gains widen to 391 points (at 20,828) at one stage.
  The Hang Seng Index ended up 358 points or 1.8% to 20,794. The H-share index also rose 141 points or 1.7% to 8,712. Turnover increased to HK$72.5 billion from HK$63.6 billion on Wednesday. HK stock market will close on Friday for a public holiday.
  The southbound quota balance of the "Shanghai-HK Connect" program was RMB8.869 billion, accounting for 84.5% of the daily allowed quota of RMB10.5 billion. The northbound trade suspended today.
  China Overseas (00688) said its acquisition of property from CITIC (00267) proceeding smoothly. Meanwhile, Nomura is bullish on its outlook for growth. COLI shot up 6% to HK$24.5. CITIC also surged 3% to HK$11.28.
  REIT and utilities met profit-taking on reduced risk-aversion. Link REIT (00823) and CLP (00002) retreated 2% and 0.3% to HK$52.8 and HK$79. But MTRC (00066) added 1% to HK$39.2.
  Stocks with European exposure continued to outperform. HSBC (00005) and Standard Chartered (02888) added 1% to hK$47.35 and HK$57.4. CKH Holdings (00001) and Power Assets (00006) rebounded 2% and 4% to HK$84.55 and HK$71.05. 
  China Resources said in a statement that it opposed the proposal of removing all directors of China Vanke (02202), but suggested restructuring. China Vanke rebounded 4% to HK$15.2. CR Land (01109) also shot up 5% to hK$18.1.
