Wing On Company (00289) said its profit attributable to shareholders for the six months ended 30 June 2016 dropped 13.8% year-on-year to HK$430 million due primarily to the share of loss of an associate in the period under review as opposed to the share of profit of the associate in the same period last year.
Excluding the non-cash net valuation gain on investment properties and related deferred tax thereon, the Group's underlying profit attributable to shareholders fell 30.2% to HK$202.4 million.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were HK145.9 cents.
The revenue was HK$883 million, a decrease of 7.3% due mainly to the decrease in department stores revenue.
The proposed interim dividend is HK25 cents (2015: HK34 cents) per share, payable on 18 October 2016.
