The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in September was 9,504, an increase of 27.9% compared with August and an increase of 73.8% from a year earlier.
The 12-month moving average for September was 5,282, 6.8% above the 12-month moving average for August but 24.2% below that for the same month last year.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in September was HK$65 billion, up 13.4% month-on-month and 57.2% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 7,826 were for residential units, up 34.4% from the previous month and up 83.6% from the same period last year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$56 billion, up 37.7% month-on-month and 66.9% year-on-year.
