The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in October was 8,560 in October, a decrease of 9.9% compared with September but up 90.6% from the same period last year.
The 12-month moving average for October was 5,621, 6.4% above the 12-month moving average for September but 15.9% below that the same month last year.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in October was HK$66.1 billion, up 1.7% month-on-month and up 84.2% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 6,601 were for residential units, down 15.7% month-on-month but up 100% year-on-year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$54.5 billion, a decrease of 2.6% from the previous month but up 142% from a year earlier.
