Hong Kong stocks opened firmer on Thursday despite the easier close of the Dow overnight. The Hang Seng Index opened up 60 points at 24,381. The H-share index rose 59 points to 10,516.
Ping An (02318) jumped 2.5% to HK$44.35 after it reported 2016 earnings growth of 15% to RMB62.39 billion.
HSBC (00005) edged down 0.1% to HK$63.05. China Mobile (00941) inched up 0.3% to HK$90.6. Tencent (00700) slipped 1.5% to HK$221.8. HKEx (00388) declined 0.2% to HK$196.
