Kingboard Laminates (01888) said its net profit attributable to owners for the year ended 31 December 2016 surged 243% year-on-year to HK$4,347 million.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were HK$1.449.
The revenue was HK$15,532 million, an increase of 21.6% from a year earlier.
Underlying net profit (excluding non-recurring items) rose 61% to HK$1,947 million. The redevelopment project in respect of a site in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, originally designated for use by the Group's production plant, was approved by government authorities. During the year, the subsidiary which held the project was disposed of for a consideration of HK$2,386 million, driving the Group's reported net profit to increase significantly.
The proposed final and special dividend are HK18.5 cents (2015: HK11.3 cents) and HK30 cents (2015: Nil) per share, payable on 19 June 2017.
