China Life Insurance (02628) said its net profit attributable to equity holders for the first quarter of 2017 rose 17.1% year-on-year to Rmb6,149 million.
Such growth was mainly due to the combined impact from the increase of the gross investment income, the optimization of business structure and the update of discount rate assumption of reserves of traditional insurance contracts.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were Rmb0.21.
Operating income was Rmb271,728 million, an increase of 23.5% from a year earlier.
