Better (v.) 改善

We strive to better the lives of people in our community.

Make progress (ph.) 取得進展／進步／改進

I’m not making much progress with my Putonghua.

我的普通話沒多大進步。

 

Example 2:

I'm sorry that I'm not able to make much progress on the presentation.
