HK$153.45 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$22.79 billion, or 14.85% of the
market's turnover. There were 750 short-selling stocks. BABA-SW (09988) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.47 billion and HK$2.31
billion, or 10.84% and 10.14% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 24.18% and 21.71% of respective stock's turnover.
JD-SW (09618) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.94 billion and HK$1.51 billion of
short sales, accounting for 8.49% and 6.61% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 45.9% and 52.54% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-SW closed up HK$13.8, or 12.24%, to HK$126.5. TENCENT ended up HK$16, or 3.57%, to
HK$463.8. JD-SW rose HK$1, or 0.33% to HK$307. TRACKER FUND jumped HK$0.64, or 2.72%, to
HK$24.14.
