[ET Net News Agency, 24 March 2021] HSBC (00005) has appointed Christina Ong as Head of
Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Hong Kong, effective 12 April 2021.
Ong will be leading HSBC's business banking franchise in Hong Kong, reinforcing the
Bank's commitment to go beyond banking to support SMEs and startups through its expertise,
network and continuous digital innovation.
With more than 25 years of experience with HSBC, Ong has held various key management
roles spanning client coverage across SMEs, mid-market segment and large corporates,
strategy and propositions, as well as marketing.
Currently Managing Director, Corporate, Commercial Banking in Hong Kong, she has been
instrumental in implementing industry specialty corporate coverage strategy, and in
driving digital and sustainable initiatives for corporate clients.
Ong will report to Fang Frank Fang, Head of Commercial Banking, Hong Kong, HSBC. She
succeeds Daniel Chan who has been appointed to head the Bank's newly established Greater
Bay Area Office. (KL)
