客戶交際應酬一向也是談生意的好時機。為了尋找更多商機拓展業務,我們應該時常跟客戶或合作夥伴溝通和交流,以保持良好且緊密的關係。因此,在職場上,我們或多或少都有需要應酬的時候。
交際應酬的時候,如果能應對如流的話,想必能在對方的心目中留下美好印象。「機會是留給有準備的人」,如果想在一場以英文交流的應酬中表現更好的話,就得為會面好好準備,提前熟習一些在應酬中經常會用到的詞彙、短語和短句。本周,我們就來一起學習一下交際應酬時有機會用到的英文吧!雖然我們無法預測下一次應酬會在甚麼時候來臨,也不知道會面時具體是甚麼情況,但我們應當成為那個「準備好的人」,在機會來臨的時候,抓緊時機,創造更大商機。倘若真的不方便應酬的時候,又可以怎麽禮貌地拒絕呢?

Part 1: 與應酬相關的詞彙及短語
1. To entertain (v.)
應酬
動詞”entertain”除了解作「娛樂」之外,也可用來表達「應酬」,後面只需要接著「應酬的對象」,例如 "entertain clients (與客戶應酬)"便可。
例句1:
Entertaining clients is a good way to bring in new business.
與客戶應酬是拉攏生意的好渠道。
例句2:
Our department has an expense account (報公數;可報帳用的預算經費)for entertaining clients.
我們的部門有一筆可報帳用的預算經費,是用於與客戶應酬的。
2. To wine and dine (v phr.)
應酬
跟 "entertain (v.)" 意思相若,後面只需要接著「應酬的對象」,例如"wine and dine clients (與客戶應酬)"便可。
例句:
I have to wine and dine clients and prospective business partners every week.
我每周都必須應酬客戶和潛在的商業夥伴。
(留意:"to entertain" 和 "to wine and dine"一般用於表達與客戶應酬。公司內部的聚會則多用"company dinner [公司聚餐]"表示。)
