[ET Net News Agency, 15 December 2017] The number of Americans filing for unemployment
benefits fell 11,000 to a seasonally adjusted 225,000 for the week ended 9 December, the
Labor Department said.
The four-week moving average was 234,750, a decrease of 6,750 from the previous week's
unrevised average of 241,500.
Continuing jobless claims declined to 1.886 million from 1.913 million in the preceding
week, which was revised up from 1.908 million. (HL)
