billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$27.72 billion, or 14.62% of the market's
turnover. There were 721 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.97 billion and HK$1.73 billion, or
10.7% and 6.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
65.54% and 8.98% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-SW (09988) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$1.14 billion and HK$1.03 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.13% and 3.72% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 22.81% and 9.82% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.32, or 1.19%, to HK$26.52. TENCENT ended down HK$13, or
2.64%, to HK$479. BABA-SW fell HK$8.3, or 4.21% to HK$189. MEITUAN-W declined by
HK$13.4, or 5.87%, to HK$215.
