[ET Net News Agency, 27 March 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$60.66
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.93 billion, or 18.02% of the market's
turnover. There were 629 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.67 billion and HK$1.04 billion, or
15.27% and 9.56% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
33.48% and 16.18% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$550.25 million and HK$429.51
million of short sales, accounting for 5.03% and 3.93% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 35.52% and 14.74% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.12, or 0.71%, to HK$16.72. TENCENT ended up HK$6.6, or
2.2%, to HK$306. BYD COMPANY fell HK$8.4, or 3.89% to HK$207.6. HSCEI ETF declined by
HK$0.66, or 1.12%, to HK$58.34.
