{I-bank focus}UBS lowers AIA (01299) to HKD95

[ET Net News Agency, 1 November 2023] UBS lowered its price target for AIA (01299) to
HKD95 from HKD113 and maintained its "buy" rating.
The research house said it forecasts 30% YoY VNB growth in 2023, followed by mid-teens
YoY growth in 2024-27, driven by (1) fast-growing middle class and affluent segments; (2)
significant protection gap; and (3) strong distribution capabilities.
While 2023E OPAT is under pressure from the normalisation of medical benefits after the
pandemic, it estimates decent OPAT growth of 6-9% in 2024-27. (RC)
