There were 810 short-selling stocks. SMIC (00981) and TRACKER FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.32 billion and HK$1.9 billion, or 7.98% and 6.56% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 10.18% and 22.19% of respective stock's turnover.
LENOVO GROUP (00992) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347) registered HK$1.82 billion and HK$1.5 billion of short sales, accounting for 6.25% and 5.16% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 30.4% and 20.11% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC closed up HK$6.8, or 8.52%, to HK$86.65. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.16, or 0.62%, to HK$25.96. LENOVO GROUP rose HK$2.81, or 17.84% to HK$18.56. HUA HONG SEMI jumped HK$14.3, or 10.99%, to HK$144.4.
