[ET Net News Agency, 7 July 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$187.04 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$34.72 billion, or 18.56% of the market's turnover. There were 824 short-selling stocks. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) and TRACKER FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.07 billion and HK$3.43 billion, or 11.72% and 9.89% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 42.11% and 35.6% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$3.01 billion and HK$2.54 billion of short sales, accounting for 8.68% and 7.33% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 49.31% and 13.64% of respective stock's turnover.
XL2CSOPHYNIX closed down HK$21.1, or 19.41%, to HK$87.6. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.12, or 0.5%, to HK$23.96. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.24, or 0.3% to HK$80.04. TENCENT jumped HK$12.8, or 2.83%, to HK$464.8.
