There were 827 short-selling stocks. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) and BABA-W (09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.88 billion and HK$1.46 billion, or 10.78% and 5.46% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 48.25% and 24.27% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and HUA HONG GRACE (01347) registered HK$1.43 billion and HK$1.28 billion of short sales, accounting for 5.35% and 4.79% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 18.99% and 19.13% of respective stock's turnover.
XL2CSOPHYNIX closed up HK$0.92, or 0.96%, to HK$96.92. BABA-W ended up HK$3.9, or 3.61%, to HK$111.9. SMIC rose HK$3.25, or 3.89% to HK$86.8. HUA HONG GRACE jumped HK$14.4, or 7.14%, to HK$216.2.
