[ET Net News Agency, 24 July 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$117.12 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.5 billion, or 18.36% of the market's turnover. There were 803 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.74 billion and HK$1.72 billion, or 12.75% and 7.98% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 40% and 45.14% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.6 billion and HK$1.12 billion of short sales, accounting for 7.46% and 5.19% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 31.74% and 44.48% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed down HK$0.082, or 1.78%, to HK$4.528. XL2CSOPHYNIX ended down HK$9, or 14.88%, to HK$51.5. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.32, or 1.25% to HK$25.36. HSCEI ETF declined by HK$0.9, or 1.05%, to HK$84.98.
