Japan's first trading day after rate hike, yen hits 158.15 against the dollar, approaching 160 again

    ETN News Agency reported on the 24th: Japan resumed trading on Thursday after a three-day market holiday, marking the first trading day since the Bank of Japan announced a rate hike last Friday (18th). Amid the dollar's continued strength, the yen weakened, reaching 158.15 against the dollar, approaching 160 again.

    The Nikkei 225 Index was last at 65018.73, up 1.38%. Chip-related stocks surged, with SoftBank's share price rising 6.8%, Ibiden up 14%, and Kioxia up 3.7%. (yc)
